Helping Adopted Shelter Dogs Stay in New Homes!

In partnership with both Restigouche County SPCA, Dalhousie, NB and the Bathurst SPCA, Bathurst, NB, we are excited to offer a FREE Initial Assessment (valued at $95) for you & your adopted shelter dog*.

Many adopted dogs have a history of behaviours that shelters may not know and which may impact their behaviors as they settle into your home. Of course, adopted shelter dogs always need your patience, as well as, a clear understanding of the "3-3-3-Rule". It takes time for a newly adopted dog to decompress, learn a little about you & your routine and then to finally start to relax enough to be his true self!

But, if after 3-4 weeks of this "adjustment period", you see some behaviors you'd like to better understand and/or change, we are happy to visit you for an 'Initial Assessment', at no cost to you*. We'll try to offer some evaluation and coaching on how to help your new dog to settle into a wonderful new life with you!

If you have recently adopted a dog from either the Restigouche County SPCA or the Bathurst SPCA and feel you need some advice, just reach out!

PLEASE NOTE: * Your new dog should be in your home at least 3 weeks to allow him to adjust from being with a different person/family, or from being a stray, or from being in a shelter. Some behaviors emerge, or dissipate, as your dog settles in. Allow him time & space. Be patient.

We will confirm your adoption with the respective shelter.
