Initial Assessment & Customized Training Strategy
Every dog or puppy is unique. While every dog or puppy learns through the same scientific process, they may learn best through different strategies. Every guardian has a different education in dog training. We appreciate that some of you are just starting out & some of you may have trained your other dogs. Every guardian also has different behavior needs or skills in their journey with their dog! We get that! Our Initial Assessment will help us get to know you, your dog, your training knowledge & your training objectives. We'll visit your home to see how your dog behaves in his own environment. We'll spend an hour and a half with you & your dog, discussing the challenges & your training goals, observing your dog, understanding your current training education & the relationship with your dog. We'll suggest 1 or 2 concrete training ideas to get you started right away, and discuss the on-going training plan, specific to your needs & objectives.

Getting Started!
Puppy Playdates!

Puppy Playdates
Occasionally, at times when we have several puppies enrolled in our programs at the same time, or have puppy owners looking for dog-dog early socialization, we hold 'Puppy Playdates'. Puppies* can build appropriate social skills through play. Your puppy will learn both 'how to read dog' & 'how to speak dog', or in other words how to communicate through 'dog body language', body signals all dogs use to communicate. Attending organized playdates, supervised by a Certified Professional Dog Trainer can provide the necessary socialization with other dogs, increase the likelihood that those experiences will be positive and effective in raising a confident adult dog, and give you the opportunity to also learn as the trainer is coaching the guardians throughout.
*for puppies 8 - 16/18 weeks of age, (exceptions possible, just reach out!), must have 1st vaccination, including Bordetella. Liability waiver must be signed.
(45 - 60 minutes, $30 each

Help for your 'Socially Sensitive' Dog!
Take a breath! You are not alone if you have a 'socially sensitive' dog! It is a very common challenge for many dog owners. Your dog may be ‘leash reactive’, over-reacting (or over-excited) by things in his environment that would normally not bother (or excite) other dogs quite so much. He may be lunging, growling, barking or even ‘air-snapping’ at people, other dogs, or ‘scary’ things. He may also simply be way over-excited by certain people or when he sees other dogs, etc. He may be stressed and worried about new social situations. He may not know just how to interact with confidence, with people or other dogs or in some situations.
Remember, your dog is simply not the label of a 'reactive dog'. Your dog is still many other things. There are so many other words and experiences that can define your dog. See and appreciate all that your dog can be. Have fun and find ways to enjoy the other aspects of your dog.
Remember also that YOU are much more diverse than being only the guardian of a 'reactive dog'. This is easier when you create positive experiences with your dog. You can do other enjoyable things, when you have a good management plan, not necessary waiting until your dog is 'fixed'.
Changing the 'big feelings' or a socially sensitive, or reactive dog, takes a wide-range of training and is very specific to your unique dog, and his 'triggers'.
Get started with an Initial Assessment (1.5 hrs, $95). Next, we'll suggest a training plan and give you our thoughts on how many sessions we would suggest.
Let's meet to evaluate where your dog is today, and what you want to accomplish.
